The 2017 Jeep Compass is a fully redesigned Compass. It features a strong chassis, simplified powertrain, and revised suspension tuning. The interior and exterior follow in the footsteps of the Cherokee and Grand Cherokee. The exterior includes an open-air dual-pane sunroof and the interior includes quality materials and technology. There are new advanced safety aids, the Trailhawk trim, and an innovative infotainment system. This compact SUV is available with two advance 4x4 systems: Jeep Active Drive and Jeep Active Drive Low. Under the Compass's Hood

The Compass receives its power from the 2.4-liter Tigershark engine. It offers the MultiAir 2 electro-hydraulic and a fully variable-actuation system. This engine produces 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. There are three choices for transmissions: nine-speed automatic transmission for 4x4 models, six-speed manual transmission, and six-speed automatic transmission. There are two advanced 4x4 systems: Jeep Active Drive and Jeep Active Drive Low. These will engage when 4x4 is needed. The Jeep Active Drive system is a full-time 4x4 system and Jeep Active Drive Low is a class-exclusive 4x4 system with a 20:1 crawl ratio. Both systems have the Jeep Selec-Terrain system with five modes: Auto, Snow, Sand, and Mud, while the Trailhawk adds the Rock mode. This system also offers hill-descent control on the Trailhawk models. To enhance fuel there is a disconnecting rear axle and power take-off unit.

Design of Jeep Compass

The Compass is redesigned to give it a sculpted look. It still features some of the traditional Jeep design cues. The seven-slot grille has individual chrome slots in a Glass Black field. The headlamps bezels offer a black outline and give the Compass more attitude. It features a traditional clamshell hood with a center bulge and double brake line. There is the available Gloss Black painted roof gives the Compass a premium look, along with the available dual-pane sunroof. The LED tail lamps are rectangle and slim that flow into the liftgate. There is also the power liftgate that make it easier to store cargo. The interior offers a trapezoidal center stack the features the 5.0-, 7.0-, or 8.4-inch touchscreen display. The center stack is basically the command center with the gear-shift selection, electronic parking brake, Selec-Terrain controls, engine stop-start controls, media charging, connective ports in cubby bin, and climate and volume control knobs. The steering wheel comes with integrated speed, voice, and audio controls so the driver can control things while staying focused driving.
