Trim Levels
<p>Buyers can choose from seven available trim levels. The new Challenger comes with the base and mid range trims including the SXT, R/T, G/T, R/T 392, and SRT 392. It also offers two premium trim levels called the SRT Hellcat and SRT Demon. </p><p>Lower and mid-range trims offer such exterior features as heated side mirror and 20-inch polished aluminum tires. Upper trim levels come standard with daytime running lights, black forged aluminum tires, and rear LED split taillamps with gloss black accents. If you want a throwback to the classic muscle car design, you can choose to add racing stripes and a sculptured hood.</p>
Engine
All 2018 Dodge Challenger trim levels offer the power that drivers have come to love and expect in a muscle car. Base trims come equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 engine that outputs 305 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque. The engine gets an upgrade at the mid-trim level to a 5.7 or 6.4-liter V8 engine that generates 357 horsepower and 410 horsepower respectively. The two upper trim levels max out the power with a 6.2-liter V8 that produces an impressive 808 horsepower and 717 pound-feet of torque.
Performance
The Challenger trims that sport a V6 engine are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Trims with the V8 come standard with a six-speed manual, but drivers can swap it for the optional eight-speed automatic. Front-wheel drive is the standard on all Challenger trims, with all-wheel drive being an available option on the mid to upper-level trims. Drivers can expect a smooth ride since all trims are equipped with Brembo brakes, an adaptive dampening system, and a competition grade suspension that helps the Challenger hug the road even on tight corners.
