Trim Levels (Exterior)
The 2019 Jeep Compass is available in five trim levels, which are Sport, Latitude, Altitude, Trailhawk, and Limited. From the outside, the Sport shows off solar-control glass, heated side mirrors, halogen quad headlights, and 16-inch wheels. You can upgrade the Sport trim with the Upland package, adding 17-inch wheels, a gloss-black roof, matte-black tow hooks, a front skid plate, and a polished exhaust tip. With the Latitude, features include tinted glass, fog lights with bezels, black side roof rails, 17-inch silver aluminum wheels, and automatic headlights. </br> The limited-edition Altitude sports a bold blacked-out look with gloss-black exterior accenting, a two-tone gloss-black roof, dual bright exhaust tips, unique 18-inch gloss-black aluminum wheels, and an available dual-pane panoramic sunroof. The Trailhawk has 17-inch wheels with all-terrain tires; gray exterior accents, including the side mirrors with integrated turn signals; a unique front fascia; and red tow hooks. </br> The Limited is the most luxurious trim, boasting bright side roof rails, a windshield wiper de-icer, 18-inch gray wheels, and remote start. Add the High Altitude Appearance package for 19-inch wheels, high-intensity discharge headlights, LED running lights and taillights, and an upgraded front grille.
Engine (Power)
All five trim levels of the 2019 Jeep Compass come equipped with a 2.4-liter, four-cylinder Tigershark MultiAir engine that produces 175 pound-feet of torque and 180 horsepower. This engine pairs with a standard six-speed manual transmission on the Sport and the all-wheel-drive (AWD) Latitude. A six-speed automatic transmission is standard on the front-wheel-drive (FWD) Latitude, Altitude, and Limited trims. The AWD Altitude, Trailhawk — the off-road-themed Trailhawk is only available with AWD — and Limited come equipped with a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Performance
With front-wheel drive, the EPA fuel-economy estimates for the Sport are 23 mpg in the city and 32 mpg on the highway, whereas the other four trims get 22 mpg and 31 mpg, respectively. All-wheel drive maintains 22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the open road for the Sport and Latitude trims, but those estimates drop slightly to 22 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway for the Trailhawk and Limited trims.
Interior
Within the cabin of the 2019 Compass Sport, you'll find a 7-inch touch screen, the Uconnect 4 infotainment system, a six-speaker audio system, Bluetooth connectivity, manually adjustable front seats, and cloth upholstery. The Latitude adds cloth and simulated-leather upholstery, ambient LED interior lighting, keyless entry and ignition, voice-command capabilities, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The Altitude upgrades the touch screen to 8.4 inches and adds piano-black interior accenting and stitching and a 7-inch driver-information display. </br> The Trailhawk is equipped similarly to the Latitude, although it adds premium cloth bucket seats with leather trimming, red interior stitching, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. The Limited trim tacks on heated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and leather upholstery.
Safety Features
Standard safety features include anti-lock brakes, air bags throughout the cabin, traction and stability control, and a rearview camera. You can also add the Advanced Safety and Lighting package, which comes with forward-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, and lane-departure warning.
