The Wrangler has no trouble bringing home awards. FourWheeler Magazine once again gave its top prize and first runner up to Wranglers. The 2022 SUV of the Year is the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392. Judges noted the incredible V8 engine, its quick sprint capability, and its remarkable off-roading prowess.

Standard Performance and Engine Choices
The familiar Pentastar V6 delivers a smooth 285 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque to take the Wrangler anywhere it needs to go. However, Jeep now offers many other choices. The Pentastar V6 can add mild-hybrid eTorque technology for higher output. ESS reduces fuel waste in city driving.

Jeep Wrangler 4Xe Review
Exclusive to Jeep, the Wrangler 4Xe and Wrangler Unlimited 4Xe are the first electric vehicles that are open-air on-road and off-road SUVs. Onlookers may recognize these rides by the distinctive blue tow hooks.
This 4xe hybrid plug-in powertrain blends the best of hybrid capability, electric motors, and a gas engine. It creates 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of instant torque. The instant part is due to its electric motors which experience no lag time in delivering get-up-and-go right off the line.
Special 4xe Features
Driving modes let you direct how you want the electric power to be used. The eSave driving mode will prioritize the engine and save electric power for when it can be most useful. Regenerative braking can capture power or be turned off for more aggressive driving sessions.
These models have front and rear locking differentials. This is another first for an SUV with electric credentials. Trim levels include the Sahara 4xe, Rubicon 4xe, and High Altitude 4xe. Estimated fuel efficiency is 49 mpge, and the driving range is 370 miles. So there is no anxiety about fuel efficiency or driving range. With a 240-volt charging port, it only takes 2 hours at home to restore the battery to fully charged. A 120-volt charger can do the job overnight.
