2025 Jeep Wagoneer vs 2025 Nissan Armada

The 2025 Nissan Armada represents something of a fixture in the world of 3 row SUVs. It was only this year that the automaker decided to improve it’s outdated engine and style. Then along comes the 2025 Jeep Wagoneer. And a new rivalry has begun.

Which one is a better family SUV? Keep scrolling to learn more.

How Does the Jeep Wagoneer Outclass the Nissan Armada?

The Jeep Wagoneer is a disruptor, entering the 3 row SUV marketplace and quickly becoming a winner. Does that mean you should choose the 2025 Wagoneer over the 2025 Nissan Armada? Let’s take a look.

How Much Space for the Money?

The Wagoneer is called cavernous, even before you add more space with the Wagoneer L. And while the new Armada in Phoenix AZ is bigger than before, it still lacks the passenger volume or the cargo space that you'll find in the three row Jeep. Size Comparison

How Much Luxury for the Money?

Even when prices are on par, the 2025 Jeep Wagoneer tends to be better equipped than the 2025 Nissan Armada in Phoenix. This large 3-row Jeep is so richly furnished that it takes the Armada Platinum to truly catch up. Comparing the standard Wagoneer to that Armada trim level, the Jeep luxury SUV is actually less expensive.

Whereas the Armada seats are covered in synthetic leather, every Wagoneer has real Capri leather. Even when you upgrade to the 2025 Nissan Armada SL, you still don’t get leather. That requires a leap up to the 2025 Armada Platinum.

At entry level prices, the Armada’s power driver’s seat is outclassed by the Wagoneer’s dual power seats with driver memory. Furthermore, only the Wagoneer driver is guaranteed to have a power-adjustable steering column and power-adjustable pedals.

Only Jeep provides standard power-ventilation for our hottest summer days in Arizona. Higher trim levels or expensive packages are required to add heated seats on the Armada, and ventilated seats are reserved for the Armada Platinum and Platinum Reserve trim levels.  Standard Level

    What are the Cockpit Tools?

The Armada has updated its cockpit with more features, and now both 3 row SUVs can claim more than 20 inches of screens. This includes a large touchscreen and digital instrumentation behind the steering wheel. Both have Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

However, the Wagoneer also has built-in Alexa, allowing Alexa subscribers to connect their car and home. Jeep’s 3-year Connect package is a valuable extra for any Wagoneer lease or purchase.

Parents will appreciate the Wagoneer’s tri-zone automatic temperature controls, helping them keep the kids in the back more comfortable. They’ll also like the standard observation mirror to help them watch over their children.

What is the 3 Row SUV’s Ride Quality?

A standard rear load-leveling suspension helps the Wagoneer achieve luxury-level ride quality. It is well-stocked with the latest engineering tools for noise reduction and the most thorough insulation for noise exclusion. An active noise control system is on board to counter unwanted exterior sounds.

When it comes to ride quality, the Nissan Armada has improved this year but this traditional SUV still can’t rise to the level of luxury. Unfortunately its noisy engine adds to road noise.

Nissan has added an adaptive suspension to its list of available features, and this can help reduce the 3rd row’s bumpy ride. However, this needed device is only standard on the Armara Platinum Reserve with a starting price over $76,000.

Which One is More Fun to Drive?

Jeep has equipped the Wagoneer with a remarkable engine even at entry level. It generates 420 horses and 468 lb-ft of torque. This twin-turbo inline-six engine has surprised journalists by handling the 0-60 mph sprint in under 7 seconds.

Rear-wheel drivetrains on this 3-row Jeep are added by a special Tac-Lock anti-spin rear differential. Jeep four-wheel drive systems, still unbeatable on the trail, are available with a varying degree of extra tools.

In contrast, the Armada has a twin-turbo six that generates 425 horsepower. It drops fuel efficiency into the teens. Its main positive is a higher rate of torque than the Wagonneer. However, that must be harnessed correctly by the transmission which has occasional trouble upshifting. Furthermore, the noisy engine affects passenger ride quality.

When it comes to towing, the Armada towing capacity tops out at 8,500 pounds. The Wagoneer tow rating can be as high as 10,000 pounds with the heavy duty towing package.  Performance comparison chart for the 2025 Jeep Wagoneer/Wagoneer L versus the Nissan Armada, detailing differences in drivetrain, 4WD options, engine, horsepower, highway fuel economy, towing capacity, and complimentary maintenance.

    Wagoneer vs Tahoe Prices

The 2025 Jeep Wagoneer price may start out several thousand dollars higher than the 2025 Nissan Armada. This price difference reflects the Wagoneer's focus on luxury. Plus it has a roomier cabin and increased cargo space.

In the three-row SUV marketplace, Wagoneers are ranked #1 in Large SUVs at US News and World Report. It has demonstrated its luxury by winning such honors as a Wards 10 Best Interiors and User Experience Award.

Clearly this large Jeep SUV is a good fit for families as evidenced by its PARENTS Best Family Cars Award in 2024. It’s even a good buy as evidenced by its 2024 ALG Residual Value Award.

Conclusion

The 2025 Jeep Wagoneer and Wagoneer L have clearly maintained their edge over the Nissan Armada, despite its model year upgrade.
