Engine and Performance

The 2025 Ram 1500 features a new Hurricane engine, generating strong horsepower and torque. From there, the brand offers high output engines that range from the toughest hauler to the most cutting-edge hybrid engine. Ram's transmission is tuned for smooth power delivery. Ford's transmission offers various drive modes.

Reviewers love the engine upgrades at Ram. Autoblog singles out the new powertrain as the “most refined and luxurious engine in the full-size truck segment”. With its torque-rich capability, it gets up to speed without undue stress.

“Axing the V8,” writes Edmunds, “hasn’t slowed the truck down at all.” Critics have reported a 4.2-second 0-60 mph sprint with the 540-horsepower engine.  Engine output comparison chart for 2025 Ram 1500 vs. 2025 Ford F-150, showing horsepower and torque ratings for different powertrain styles.

    Towing and Payload

When it comes to towing and payload, Ram is very competitive in this category. Ford has a slight edge in maximum capability. However, the new Ram 1500 is capable of towing over 11,000 lbs and hauling over 2000 lbs, indicating that it is extremely capable.

Ramchargers are a plug-in hybrid boosts the tow rating to 14,000 pounds, beating Ford’s 13,500 lb rating.

Ensuring good handling for a large truck, Ram uses a rear coil spring suspension. This design provides a more comfortable ride. It handles rough roads well. Meanwhile, the Ford F-150 typically uses a leaf spring suspension. This is known for its durability, but it can’t match the Ram’s ride quality.

Furthermore, Ram is still the only truck maker to offer Active-Level Four Corner Air Suspension. This system balances the payload by adjusting each corner as necessary. It also lifts empty beds for better highway travel and lowers it if you need to load the bed. You won’t have this advantage if you choose the Ford F-150 in Phoenix.

    Cabin and Bed Size

Ram is known for its luxurious interiors full of high-quality materials. The Quad and Crew Cabs are notably bigger than their counterparts on the Ford F-150 in Phoenix. This means more second row legroom in both Ram truck cabins. Whether you need the space for your crew, family or friends, that extra wiggle room is very welcome.

As for the beds, the Ram 1500 boasts a bigger short bed than the Ford F-150. That’s a nice advantage where it means the most. The Ford’s 6-foot bed is slightly longer than the Ram’s bed. Fortunately Ram has extra wide space between the wheel wells. When you are ready to shop, Earnhardt CDJR is your Ram dealer in Phoenix.  Size Comparison

    Interior Style and Dash Tech

In every Ram, the Uconnect infotainment system -- with its choice of a 12-inch and 14.5-inch touchscreens -- is considered user-friendly. It easily competes with similar systems from Ford. Plus Ram offers a class-exclusive 10.3-in passenger display.

As for style, this has always been a strong suite of the Ram brand, and this year continues this trend. Its updates make it even more appealing to those who want a luxurious truck.

The Ram second row seats can recline. These can even be power-ventilated on top Ram truck trims. You won’t find either of these comfort features in the Ford F-150 SuperCrew Cab. This year Ram continues to offer its automated parking system. Ford has deleted this capability from the F-150’s menu for 2025.
