PALMS performance at the Crescent Ballroom in Phoenix, AZIf you love live music, there are a number of good live performance venues in Phoenix that are worth paying a visit to. They host numerous different artists, many of whom likely to go on to become big names in the music industry. The following live music venues are the most popular in Phoenix offering live music events.

The Rebel Lounge

The Rebel Lounge was originally known as The Mason Jar and was founded in 1979. The Mason Jar traditionally hosted alternative rock artists, many of whom went on to become stars. Some examples are Green Day, Nirvana, and Guns and Roses. The club was later remodeled and expanded its music genres to include modern rock, indie, and metal bands. Some of the well-known artists that have performed at The Rebel Lounge include The Black Keys and Jimmy Eat World.

In 2015, Stephen Chilton, known for his events, Psyko Steve Presents, turned the club into The Rebel Lounge continuing the legacy of hosting the artists of the future. If you’re a fan of alternative rock, modern rock, indie, or metal, look up the forthcoming shows at The Rebel Lounge for a fun night out.

Crescent Ballroom

The Crescent Ballroom premises were originally the F.L. Hart Garage, built in 1917 when Phoenix was busy transitioning from a purely agricultural community into a tourist destination. The building was home to many automobile-related businesses until it finally housed the Arizona Awning Company in 1945.

Today it is an adaptive reuse project, housing the Crescent Ballroom, a popular live music venue in Phoenix. It consists of a mid-sized music performance room with a capacity for 550 people, a lounge with a full bar service, and a restaurant. Live music is on hand daily with a variety of music shows, and the lounge and kitchen are open every day. Cocina 10, the kitchen, serves local Arizona cuisine with vegetarian options.

Joe’s Grotto

Joe Grotto (his real name) is a local musician with a passion for live music. In 1994 he founded Joe’s Grotto with the purpose of showcasing bands and musicians at an exciting and practical venue. It has developed into a top spot for live music with two sections. The smaller, more intimate venue, known as The Backroom at Joe’s, is for smaller functions, such as open mic evenings. The main room with a revamped stage called The Big Stage hosts large music festivals and concerts.

Joe’s Grotto supports all music genres with both local and national performers. A bar is open for drinks during performances, and there is a food truck outside. The PA system is first class, and the venue has a great reputation with performers and patrons alike for its professionalism and friendly staff.

All three of these venues are locals’ favorites, so if you’re keen on live music, book a show at one of them. Their websites have calendars with information on the upcoming performers. If you get lucky, you may be supporting a superstar of the future.
