clean carThe best thing about the warm months of the summer is being able to go out exploring on a road trip. Unfortunately, when you’re driving to new and exciting destinations, it’s likely that your car will get a little dirty. Here are a few tips for keeping your car clean on summer road trips so that your vehicle will look its best on your highway adventures.

  1. Tidy up the Cabin on Every Pitstop

One of the best ways to keep your car clean on summer road trips is to tidy up whenever you get the opportunity. For example, when you’re on a lengthy drive, you should take every stop at a gas station as an opportunity to clean the inside of your car.

Keep a tub of baby wipes in your car. Whenever you stop to fuel up, use the wipes to clean your dashboard and other surfaces. This is a particularly good idea if you’ve regularly been driving down dusty roads.

You can also use your pit stops to clear trash from the inside of the car. Keep a few plastic bags handy and use these bags to store your garbage. When you’re at a gas station, simply empty your bags into a nearby trashcan so that your car is clutter-free.

  1. Make Regular Trips to the Car Wash

If you spend a lot of time on the road this summer, the outside of your car is going to get pretty dirty. Although you could wash your car yourself, the more convenient solution is to visit a car wash before and after every road trip.

Running your car through an automatic wash is a great way to rid the exterior of dirt, dust, and other types of debris that can build up on a road trip. With just a few minutes of your time at the end of your trip, you can give your vehicle a like-new shine.

Professional detailing can also be a good idea if you want to get your car as clean as possible. Professional detailers will be able to clean your car inside and out so that it always looks its best.

  1. Cover the Inside of Your Vehicle

Fans of off-roading know how easy it is for sand and dirt to get inside your vehicle. Sand, in particular, can easily get inside of the cracks and crevices of your cabin, and once it’s there, it can be very hard to remove.

If you’re planning on driving somewhere with a lot of dirt, dust, or sand this summer, then a good idea to keep your car clean is to cover the interior surfaces of your vehicle. You can use a drop cloth, tarp, or plastic sheet to cover the inside of your vehicle to keep it from getting dirty. When your trip is over, you can take off the covers and do just a little bit of vacuuming to get any bits of sand or dirt that have been left behind.

As you can see, keeping your car clean is a lot easier than you might think. Follow these tips and you should be able to make sure your car stays spick-and-span on your summer road trips.
