Washington Wizards v/s Phoenix Suns January 21, 2011

If you enjoy an energetic game of basketball and you happen to be in Phoenix, make a point of visiting the Talking Stick Resort Arena with your family for some fine NBA entertainment. Here are some tips that will prove helpful for attending a Phoenix Suns home game at the Talking Stick Resort Arena.

Take the Light RailĀ

The doors to the arena open 1.5 hours before the start of the game. There is plenty of parking space around the arena, but it can be on the expensive side. Also, given the crowd, there is a high likelihood of encountering traffic bottlenecks while getting in and out. You might find it more convenient to reach the arena by Phoenix’s Light Rail system.

Bring the Entire Family

Since the entertainment during the Phoenix Suns games is family-friendly, you can bring your children along. If your children are below the age of two and you are willing to seat them on your lap for the duration of the game, they can have a free entrance. Along with the basketball game, your children will probably also enjoy the humorous antics of the Gorilla, the famous and much-loved mascot of the Phoenix Suns.

Assistance Available for Disabled Visitors

The arena has made provisions so that disabled visitors can enjoy the basketball game without any impediments. There are special seating areas for people in wheelchairs. People with vision impairments can make use of portable radios. If you have a hearing impairment, you can use an assistive listening receiver.

Eat Before You Visit

You cannot bring outside food and beverages into the arena, although the management does make exceptions for baby bottles and baby formula. If you get hungry during the game, you will have to make your way to the few restaurants inside the arena. They tend to offer a standard fare at somewhat expensive prices. It might be a better idea to have a substantial meal before arriving for the game. There are some nice restaurants around the arena that offer a more varied and reasonably priced fare.

Buy Souvenirs

If you want the folks back home to know you attended a Phoenix Suns game or if you simply like collecting souvenirs, head over to the team shop on the arena’s northern side and buy their official merchandise. You can also browse through a range of game-related merchandise at several stands within the arena.

Some Prohibitions to Remember

You can only bring bags with single compartments into the arena. They don’t allow multicompartment bags or backpacks of any type. If you want to bring banners and signs, make sure you only bring hand-held items made of fire-retardant materials. Don’t hold them up during the game; the signs can distract the players and prevent other spectators from viewing the game. There is also a strict prohibition on video recording inside the arena, so keep the video recorder switched off.

With these tips in mind, have a splendid time during the Phoenix Suns home game at the Talking Stick Resort Arena.
