A More Powerful Engine
The powertrain option on the Renegade just got an upgrade in 2019 with Sport and Lattitude trims coming standard with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that produces up to 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. You can also now choose to upgrade your engine to a turbo-charged 1.3 liter, four-cylinder engine that produces 177 horsepower and 200 pound-feet of torque. The engine is now paired with a nine-speed automatic transmission which means that the six-speed standard is no longer available.
A Sharper More Refined Look
The exterior look of the 2019 Jeep Renegade was upgraded with sharper features to create more modern lines and a more refined look. Both the front and rear received updates to the fascia, creating a less boxy look, and buyers now have the option to upgrade to LED headlights and taillights.
Buyers will also have more exterior colors to choose from and will enjoy the revamped wheel design. You will have the option to choose from 16-inch, 17-inch, or 18-inch wheels with a 19-inch option being available exclusively on the Limited trim level. The exterior was not the only part of the Renegade that received an upgrade. Drivers can also expect a redesigned more user-friendly instrument cluster.
Upgraded Safety and Tech Packages
With the 2019 Renegade, you will see the same great safety features that Jeep offers in all their models such as high-steel body and advanced air bag systems. It will also have the option for an additional safety package that includes such passive and defensive driving safety features as adaptive cruise control, self-parking technology, and front parking sensors. The Renegade will include standard updated safety options such as Lane Sense Departure Warning-Plus and Intelligent Speed Assist with Traffic Sign Recognition.
Additionally Jeep has announced that the Renegade will also have an optional Advanced Tech Group Package, though the components have yet to be announced.
Redesigned Interior
The interior also received an overall facelift, though the changes are a little more subtle. The center console has noticeable changes with redesigned cup holders, additional storage compartments, and a specialized smartphone holder. They have also included repositioned USB ports in the rear of the center armrest to provide more access. Each trim level will feature the new and improved UConnect system with screen size varying by trim level and ranging from 5 to 8.4 inches.
