A bowl of fresh Guacamole with a chip in it on a brightly colored, striped table.Wondering what to have for dinner tonight? Well, you’re not alone. Thankfully, we have some great suggestions for you. If you are craving the spice of a tasty southwestern meal, check out these mouthwatering locations.

Canyon Cafe

This delicious Phoenix-based restaurant offers a little something for everyone. One of the chef’s favorite dishes is southwest seafood pasta. It is an angel hair pasta dish with a red pepper sauce that contains shrimp, calamari, and mussels. The staff of the cafe will also make you fresh guacamole at your table.

You can also enjoy Canyon Cafe at your next meeting or celebration with their catering services for both business and personal needs. If you really love their food, why not ask them to be a part of your special day? They’d be happy to handle catering for your wedding or rehearsal dinner.

Sierra Bonita Grill

Sierra Bonita Grill offers an interesting mix of dishes to tease your taste buds. Some of the most loved offerings include green chile mac-n-cheese and stacked enchiladas.  There are gluten-free options available if you or someone in your party needs them.

If you still have room after your meal, stay for dessert. One of the standout sweet dishes is their gelato trio; it’s a perfect way to cool down after your meal.

If you just want a small bite and some excellent drinks, visit during their happy hour, which takes place in the bar area and has its own special menu. Some highlights of this menu include carne asada street tacos, Hopper’s poppers, borracho nachos, or Frito pie.

The establishment is open seven days a week, and they offer a special brunch menu on the weekends. Brunch starts at 11 a.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. on Sunday. You can make reservations online through Open Table.

Z’Tejas

Z’Tejas will fill your stomach whether you are in Phoenix or in Chandler. Their approach is good southwestern food with a twist. They have a happy hour to help you relax after a long day, and the North Phoenix location even has a reverse happy hour late in the evening. Hours vary by location, so be sure to check their website to confirm the details. Both locations offer $3 off appetizers and discounted drinks during these times.

Even if it’s not happy hour, you can still enjoy a delicious meal here. One of the favorite offerings at Z-Tejas is house-made cornbread, which is made fresh every hour. The first skillet of cornbread is on the house, while additional skillets will cost $2.95. Start your meal with a show by ordering the guacamole, which the staff will prepare at your table.

Z’Tejas offers a variety of mouthwatering entree options including a chicken artichoke mushroom stack and a smothered burrito with chicken or steak. The chicken comes with a red sauce while the steak is deliciously prepared with a green sauce.

After dinner stick around for dessert including ancho fudge pie. The chef also makes a different cobbler or cheesecake creation each day.

If you love their food, why not let Tejas handle your next party? The Phoenix location offers a semi-private dining room overlooking their outdoor patio.

With so many delicious dining options to choose from in the Phoenix area, the hardest part of dinner will be making a decision. Thankfully, no matter what you choose, your taste buds are sure to thank you!
