Black 2018 Jeep Compass driving down a city road. The 2018 Jeep Compass has something for everyone. It is comfortable enough for even the most discerning passenger, and you can take it off-road to enjoy adventures anywhere you want. Read on to find out which Compass is right for you.

Performance

There are five different Compass trim models: Sport, Latitude, Altitude, Trailhawk, and Limited.  The transmission options vary depending on whether you choose a front-wheel or all-wheel drive model. Generally, the four transmissions are a six-speed manual, a six-speed automatic, a nine-speed automatic, and an AutoStick automatic transmission.

All of the trims except the Trailhawk give you the option between front-wheel and all-wheel drive. The Trailhawk only comes in an all-wheel-drive version.

Technology Features

There are some attractive technology features in the Compass. The Sport, Latitude, and Altitude trims start with Bluetooth capabilities and a Uconnect 3 system with a 5-inch screen. They also include push-button start and remote keyless entry. All of the trims come standard with USB ports for both the front and rear seats.

On the Trailhawk and Limited editions, the infotainment system jumps to Uconnect 4 with an 8.4-inch screen. These trims also allow you to stay connected on the road with Apple CarPlay and Google Android Auto capabilities. These are optional in the Altitude trim.

If you want to experience satellite radio while you are on the road, a one-year subscription to SiriusXM satellite radio is standard in the Trailhawk and Limited and is optional in every other trim except for the Sport. In all of the models, the driver can control the radio’s volume from the steering wheel for safety and ease while driving.

Fuel

The Compass runs on regular gasoline. The Sport and Latitude models come standard with a 2.4-liter I-4 MultiAir engine. The engine can be upgraded to the 2.4-liter I-4 M-Air engine, which come standard in the other trims.

Interior

The interior of the 2018 Jeep Compass is comfortable. Beyond the technology features that it boasts, it has enough room for five passengers. There are two rows of seats available. The back seat folds down in two sections, so you have multiple seating and storage options. The front passenger seat also folds forward to give passengers more leg room or increase the cargo capabilities for longer items. All of the models include cargo tie-down loops to secure your cargo.

The three lower models include cloth seats, while the Trailhawk adds leather-trim. The Limited trim will keep drivers comfortable with heated front leather-trimmed seats and perf leather inserts.

Off-Road Maneuverability

Do you enjoy going off-road when you are off work? If so, the Trailhawk is ready and waiting for you. The suspension in this trim can handle any unpaved surface you find, while the all-wheel drive will assist you through any weather or slick road conditions you encounter during your adventure.
